What is NF1?
Around the world, one in every 3,500 people is born with the genetic disorder NF1, which stands for "Neurofibromatosis Type 1." Say It!neuro. fibroma. tosis.NF1 is a disorder of the nervous system that is caused by mutations in a gene of the same name, NF1. We all have this gene, but we only get the disorder if the gene is mutated.
